Newborn Sessions

Newborn Experience

Congratulations on your newest addition & thanks for your interest in my work! Newborn Sessions are a great way to document your baby’s first days!

I have several options to capture these special moments. All newborn sessions take place during the week and ideally during the first 21 days of life, but I do photograph newborns up to 8 weeks.

Studio Newborn Sessions all take place in my boutique studio located in the Midtown area of Little Rock, Arkansas.  After we finish with family shots, you can relax on the couch and watch me photograph your sweet little one!

I love studio sessions because I have easy access to all my favorite things!

There are 3 different Newborn Lifestyle Sessions that take place in the comfort of your home and range from mostly lifestyle to full studio session in your home.

We will plan for what images we want to capture, so I can bring everything we will need!

The Process

$350

$575

All sessions include a product credit for digital and tangible products.

We have a wide array of products, several collections that include prints and digitals as well as a la carte items.  There are also Watch Me Grow bundles to help document your baby’s first year.

When should I book?

I recommend booking 2 months before your due date to ensure a spot on my calendar. However, many times I can fit people in closer to their due date and sometimes even after your baby arrives. It never hurts to ask!

When do you usually photograph newborns?

I photograph newborns on weekday mornings. In special circumstances like a prolonged stay in NICU, I can photograph family on a weekend or early in the morning. Ideally your newborn will be 5-21 days old.

What if my baby is over 21 days?

I am happy to photograph older newborns. We tend to get more awake shots, and they might not be willing to curl up in tiny balls… but they will still be adorable. And sometimes an 8 week old baby will act like a 10 day old baby.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nope! You do not have to bring a single thing except a baby. Almost everything you see on my website, Facebook, and Instagram I own. If there is something sentimental you would like to bring, just let me know. I buy my outfits, wraps, and props from vendors specifically for newborn photography. Nine times out of ten, outfits & wraps that parents bring are too big or do not function well for photos. I have a ton of stuff.

Before you buy something, ask me. There is a decent chance that I have it. If it is an heirloom or very sentimental, we will find a way to make it work.

What should we wear?

I recommend wearing something solid. You do not need to match, but you should coordinate. I also recommend dressing in layers. I usually kick up the heat in the studio, so your little one isn’t cold.

Is there an additional fee for multiples?

Nope! We might do one less set-up depending on how they are sleeping.

I found an image on Pinterest. Can I send it to you?

Of course! I love to see things you love! I really love when you send me photos of things I have actually shot though. In either case we can usually do a variation of what you have sent.

Images should ideally be sent immediately and before the eve of your session.  This gives me time to plan.

Please do not send me 10+ images though. It leaves me confused about what you actually want and usually makes me have to say no to several things. I would prefer to say YES!

Where should I get my images printed?

I always tell people it is best to order wall art from me. My images are calibrated to my professional lab printers. You do not have to order prints from me though.

I recommend ordering from Full Color or Mpix Photo Lab. Both are great consumer labs & ship directly to you!

Do I get all of my images?

The Deluxe Newborn and Family sessions both include all of your gallery images. The rest all come with a momentary credit that you can use towards purchasing images, prints, and/or canvases.

The amount is equal to a digital bundle. That way if you pick that bundle you owe nothing after. If you pick a larger bundle, we will apply the credit to your total.

How much do people usually spend?

Most people upgrade to the next digital bundle, so between $500-800 not including physical prints.
